\n\nTravel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.
\n\nOpportunity:
\nRN - Med Surg Orthopedic
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Position eligible for 48 guaranteed hours
\n• Day shift: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
\n• Night shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
\n• Rotate through every 3rd weekend (sometimes every other weekend if coverage needed)
\n• Patient ratios of 5-6:1
\n• Work with specialized orthopedic equipment including traction, external fixators, halos, walkers, gait belts, bed alarms, continuous pulse ox, and remote telemetry monitoring
\n• Use Meditech EMR system
\n• Staff issued iPhone 7 each shift to utilize mobile heartbeat (iMobile) communication program
\n• Perform typical procedures including wound care and dressing changes
\n• Work in fast-paced med/surg acuity unit specializing in orthopedic injury, neurological conditions including stroke and head injuries, and trauma patients
\n• Required dress code: Royal blue scrubs
\n• Must have acute care hospital experience on Med/Surg or Telemetry units
\n• Kansas nursing license required
\n• BLS certification required
\n• NIH certification preferred

\nThis medical center operates as a busy Level 2 trauma center with 2 freestanding emergency departments that provide a steady flow of patients. The Orthopedics & Spine Specialty unit features 36 beds with all private rooms and has recently expanded from 26 beds due to growing patient volume. The facility boasts exceptional staff retention with 0% first-year RN turnover and only 7% total RN turnover compared to the national average of 17%. The organization has shown increased employee engagement year after year and utilizes advanced technology including mobile communication systems to enhance patient care and staff coordination.
