A rural primary care practice in Southern Virginia (near Richmond) is seeking a Locum Tenens Family Medicine Physician to provide outpatient coverage 3 days per week beginning June 23, 2025 , for an expected 9-month assignment . This position offers negotiable pay , comprehensive malpractice coverage , and complimentary travel and lodging .
Job Overview:Location: Southern Virginia (rural setting near Richmond, VA)
Start Date: June 23, 2025, or as soon as credentialed
Duration: Approximately 9 months (or until full-time roles are filled)
Schedule: 3 eight-hour shifts per week (weekdays only)
Call: None
Patient Volume: 20 patients per day
Setting: Outpatient Primary Care
Exam Rooms: 6
EMR: EPIC
Support Services Onsite: Laboratory, phlebotomy, POC testing
Practice Population: All ages Adult, Pediatric, Newborn, Geriatric
Adult Outpatient Care (no ICU/CCU)
Pediatric/Newborn Care (>2000g)
Pelvic Exams / Pap Smears (optional but helpful)
Minor procedures:
Suturing of minor lacerations
Incision & Drainage (I&D)
Psychiatric: Uncomplicated adult cases only (on-site behavioral health provider available)
No supervision required
No hospital or ED backup coverage
Pay Rate: Negotiable
Malpractice Insurance: Comprehensive, provided
Travel & Lodging: Provided

Active Virginia license
BLS
