Set up, run and maintain offset, flexographic or digital printing presses to meet color, registration and production specifications.
Key responsibilities
Mix inks, install plates/cylinders and load substrate rolls or sheets
Calibrate press controls for speed, pressure, ink density and alignment
Conduct in‑process quality checks (densitometer, spectrophotometer)
Perform routine maintenance (blanket changes, roller cleaning, lubrication)
Troubleshoot web breaks, jams and color variations; minimize waste
Complete job tickets and daily production reports
Typical requirements
1–3 years operating commercial or packaging presses
Ability to read job dockets & color proofs; basic math for ink formulas
Familiarity with G7/ISO color standards desirable
High‑school diploma; technical certificate or union apprenticeship a plus
